Movie Verdict

Gen’nexT Movies is the company that made the highly rated horror thriller “Mantra,” which starred Charmi Kaur and inspired a number of other movies in the same genre. When one of these companies makes a movie, we know it will have an interesting story and a different way of filming.

The story of “Butterfly” doesn’t have any high-octane thrills. Instead, it’s about a single, simple theme that’s treated in a boring way. Even though the length of the movie was right for its type, the way it was told and put together didn’t keep the audience’s attention. In a thriller movie, the audience will definitely expect some twists and turns they didn’t see coming. This may help them forget about the movie’s flaws. But “Butterfly” doesn’t keep the audience’s attention and doesn’t have any clever turns. The sad ending of the movie makes it hard to keep watching.

Anupama Parameswaran’s acting as Geetha is real, but she had trouble with a few scenes that were very emotional. She does deserve praise, though, for trying to carry the whole movie with her performance. Nihal Kodhaty started his career as a young artist. In this movie, he played a key role and did a great job. Even though Bhumika Chawla’s part was small, she did a great job. Rao Ramesh has already played similar roles, so this one doesn’t bother him. Every other performer did a good job with the parts they were given.

The technical parts of Butterfly seem to be fine. Arviz and Gideon Katta’s background music fits the scenes and makes them more interesting, but Sameer Reddy’s cinematography doesn’t live up to his goals. He had shown his skill as a cinematographer in big movies before, but the images in this movie are more like those in short films. The story is told in a clear way with good editing and production.

Ghanta Satish Babu has worked as an assistant director on a few movies, but this is his first film as a full-time director. The whole movie shows how little he knew about making scenes more interesting. He could have paid more attention to making events that people would remember and would have kept their attention.

Butterfly is mostly a scary movie with only a few interesting parts. If you have a Hotstar subscription and like thrillers, you can watch this movie right now.
