Story
Mili, the main character, is a young woman who works at a local restaurant to make ends meet while saving up money to pursue her dream of travelling the world. Her father has always encouraged her relationship with Sameer. On a particularly trying day, she finds herself accidentally locked in the restaurant’s food storage freezer. The rest of the movie is about how she manages to stay alive in that kind of temperature.

The film Mili features an ensemble cast that includes Janhvi Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Sunny Kaushal, Hasleen Kaur, Rajesh Jais, Vikram Kochhar, Anuraag Arora, and Sanjay Suri. Directed by Mathukutty Xavier and produced by ZEE Studios and Boney Kapoor, this film also has Kapoor as a producer. The film’s cinematography was handled by Sunil Karthikeyan, and the score was composed by A.R. Rahman.

Mili Movie OTT Platform (Digital Rights)
Mathukutty Xavier, who helmed the Malayalam adaptation, is now helming the Hindi original. The same director is currently working on the Hindi adaptation, so we should be able to expect a faithful adaptation without too many changes to the original story or scenes. We’ll have to wait for the sequel’s release to find out if the movie was altered in any way since the first. After its run in theatres, Mili’s digital streaming rights were purchased by Netflix’s OTT platform, and Zee Cinema secured the satellite rights.

In case you missed it, “Helen” was originally filmed in Malayalam and was inspired by real events; this is an authentic remake of that film. The majority of Mili takes place in a single room, conveying the feelings of a woman imprisoned in a terrible environment, and this will be a challenge for Janhvi Kapoor. Despite Netflix’s acquisition of the film’s rights, a date for its over-the-top (OTT) distribution has not been set.
