Movie Verdict

“Monica, O My Darling” is a unique film that combines comedy with suspense, and since it has so many various components in the plot, it cannot be classified as belonging to any one particular genre. Even though the movie’s plot is straightforward and just a few of the moments are predictable, its incorporation of various genres makes it entertaining to watch. This thriller differs from other thrillers in how it manages to have fun while depicting crime scenes and some extremely serious circumstances. Although there are not many surprises in the film, the narration keeps us guessing right up to the very end.

When it comes to the acting, Rajkummar Rao does a fantastic job as Jayant Arkhedkar, who has various facets throughout the movie and who is expertly portrayed on screen. Despite having little screen presence, Huma Qureshi was excellent as always. As ACP Naidu, who has an odd sense of humour while having a difficult job, Radhika Apte impresses. Sikandar Kher produced a respectable performance as Nishikant Adhikari and has a royal appearance. The necessary comic relief is provided by Bagavathi Perumal throughout the film. All of the actors, including Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, played their roles as necessary for the plot.

“Monica, O My Darling” looks good visually. Achint Thakkar’s music and background soundtrack fit the genre perfectly and give the viewers a thrilling experience. Another notable aspect of the movie is the cinematography by Swapnil S Sonawane, whose sombre tone is portrayed in all of the images and frames. The editing by Atanu Mukherjee is precise and free of unnecessary situations. The production values are excellent.

Vasan Bala, who previously won praise for his work on the films “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota” and two stories from the anthology “Ray,” is successful in capturing the attention of the audience with his current production. Despite a few errors, he was able to keep the audience interested all the way through the film.

Overall, “Monica, O My Darling” is an intriguing thriller worth watching for the major performers’ outstanding work. For an exciting new experience, you should absolutely stream this movie on Netflix.
