Movie Verdict
The first three episodes set the scene well, explaining why the Pakistani army wants to conquer Kashmir and what tactics they intend to use; this hooks viewers and compels them to keep watching; however, the pace flags after that due to the narrator’s slow delivery of information; the show picks up again once the protagonists enter Pakistan as spies and begin acting like natives.
The Mukhbir series contains all the ingredients, such as how Indian spies are losing their lives for the nation, which hooks the spectator from the beginning and keeps them watching until the very end. The speed of the screenplay slows in each episode, but this is typical of web series.
The series’ screenplay is its greatest strength; when India realizes it cannot afford another war, it chooses to end the conflict peacefully. However, the screenplay expertly mixes the various strategies and tactics used to achieve this peaceful victory.
The writing for Mukhbir hits just the perfect notes in terms of drama, scary action, creative twists, and emotional resonance.
The series relies heavily on the chemistry between Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, and Adil Hussain. Zain Khan has a lot going on, and he pulls it off brilliantly, while Prakash Raj needs no introduction; he kills it in every role he does, including his current one as SKS Moorthy. he performed an excellent job, as did Adhin, and the rest of the cast did fine work as well.
Putting aside the sluggish narration in a few episodes, Jayaprad Desai and Shivam Nair, who are famed for espionage thrillers like Kay Kay Menon’s Special Ops and Tapsee’s Naam Shabana, created another superb spy thriller and succeeded in giving overall enjoyment in the series.
The technical aspects of Mukhbir- The Story of a Spy are excellent thanks to the efforts of Dimo Popov on the cinematography, Abhishek Nailwal on the soundtrack, and the rest of the crew.
I like Mukhbir-The Story of Spy because it was a well-made spy thriller.
