Movie Verdict

Fauda, an Israeli television series, is widely regarded as one of the best action series of all time. The show also delves deeply into the human psychology to discover the motivations of terrorists. Even though the producers of the Hindi adaptation of Fauda, titled Tanaav, didn’t alter the tale in any significant way, the viewers still didn’t connect with the show. This is probably because they were already familiar with the premise and basic plotline of the original series, the Kashmir Files.

Once the intelligence finds out Umar is alive, the series picks up, taking us along for the ride as we follow in their pursuit of him; each episode ends on a cliffhanger that will keep you glued to the screen; but while watching the series, we didn’t get a sense of anything particularly new, since we’ve seen many films addressing the freedom of Kashmir and depicting terrorists fighting for the sake of Kashmir.

Despite the show’s many problems, it contains many interesting parts that keep us watching episode after episode.

The rest of the ensemble was also solid, and it’s clear that Manav Ji and Arbaaz Khan like playing similar characters. Everyone put forth tremendous efforts, especially Rajat Kapoor, Sumit Kaul, Shashank Arora, Ekta Kaul, Waluscha D’souza, and Zareena Wahab.

The Indian adaptation of Fauda by Sudhir Mishra is good, yet the series as a whole seems unremarkable because the subject is so familiar to us. However, he did manage to produce some episodes of the show.

In terms of production value, Tanaav falls short. The film’s photography and score, in particular, fall short of expectations.
If you’re a fan of action but haven’t seen the Fauda series, you should watch Tanaav.
