Verdict

The film title 19(1) represents Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution, which prioritises freedom of speech and expression (a). As implied by the title, the plot of the film revolves around the right to free speech and the ability to express one’s feelings in any situation. This film, like all other Malayalam films, has a very slow pace, but the plot is engaging and the characters are well-drawn, keeping you interested in what happens next.
Once again, Vijay Sethupathi, who can adapt to any role, demonstrates his acting prowess. Nithya Menon’s performance in the role was outstanding, and she looks stunning in casual attire. Indrajith delivered a strong performance despite having less screen time than the film’s other two main actors. The performances of all other actors, including Indrans, Deepak Parambol, and Srikanth Murali, are provided as necessary.
Malayalam films are technically always enjoyable to watch. The cinematographer Manesh Madhavan captured some breathtaking images for 19(1)(a), and several of the film’s locations are a visual feast for the audience. Again, the music of Govind Vasanatha is impressive. The movie’s background music is soothing and appropriate for the scenes. Even though In dhu VS is directing her first feature film, she did a good job presenting a straightforward plot with straightforward production, and her screenplay is undeniably memorable.
Last but not least, 19(1)(a) is a compelling drama with outstanding performances and production that can be streamed online.
